Kanayo Chiemelu

Senior Pastor, RCCG Victory House & Pastoral Counselor for Living Water Christian Services

Pastor Kanayo Chiemelu is an Ordained Minister and Servant of the Living God, called to the nations as a missionary. He is a husband and father. Growing up, he had always loved the things of God and the House of God. This exposed him to rural evangelism and other forms of ministry as he grew up in rural health posts with parents who were rural health workers. He has served as a Christian missionary for over 22 years and is currently the senior pastor of Victory House, a parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Pastor Kanayo has been a passionate church planter in various nations and cultures, building lives and enabling cross cultural understanding of the gospel. He was trained in The Redeemer’s Bible College for Missions after which he began church planting in the Republic of Benin, and other nations in West Africa where several churches were planted in three years. This was where he first realized what God had intended for his life - living for the gospel and building bridges. He has a degree in French Education from the University in Nigeria. He furthered his education in France with a French government scholarship majoring in Linguistics for his post graduate degree. The language skills were very helpful for the work in these francophone African nations. In 2000 the work in collaboration with Mercy Ships and Youth with A Mission (YWAM) in Benin led him to the University of the Nations in Kailua Kona- Hawaii for further training and to understudy YWAM with the objective to facilitate this Christian ministry into Nigeria. While there, he completed different programs in missions. The trainings exposed him to diversity in mindsets and approach to these differences with the Gospel. At the end of the trainings Pastor Kanayo and his late wife, Oby went back to Nigeria and facilitated YWAM into Nigeria.

In 2002 Pastor Kanayo was sent back to Hawaii to plant a church in Honolulu where he continued to engage himself in cross cultural mission outreaches as well as taking secular postgraduate courses in social work. As a "Tent Maker" he worked in various establishments to support his family and ministry doing case management among the challenged, families and children. In 2008, on the Lord’s instructions, he relocated to Albuquerque NM with the commission "Transforming and building lives to become overcomers". Pastor Kanayo has seen the power of God manifest in numerous lives and situations with His unfailing love ever present. He is committed to building lives through the leading of the Holy Spirit.   Pastor Kanayo will be providing counseling, cultural acclimatization training and intercessory prayer services to LWCS clients .
